J1 USA VISA

The J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa gives eligible foreign nationals an opportunity to come to the United States for approved educational and cultural exchange programs. Depending on the category, J-1 participants can study, conduct research, teach, receive professional training, participate in internships, work in approved summer programs, or take part in other exchange activities. But J-1 is not a general work visa. Your activities in the United States must match the exchange program and category listed on your Form DS-2019.
